What to Look for in a Far Infrared Sauna

If you are looking to purchase a far infrared sauna, it is important to become familiar with the many factors that you should be basing your choice on when it comes to picking out a sauna. From technical specifications such as EMF levels and heating equipment all the way to visual appeal and comfort level, you should be sure to carefully inspect the equipment before you make your final call. Here are a few tips to follow when buying an infrared sauna:

Check the EMF Levels

If you are wondering what all the fuss is about when it comes to claims of “no” or “low EMF” levels, then you need to read up. EMF levels are probably the single most important feature to check when buying an infrared sauna. EMF (electromagnetic fields), represented by mG, can be harmful to the body if it exceeds the established threshold, which is 3.0 per most studies. Any sauna that is producing more than 3.0 mG of EMF may be deemed unhealthy and should be avoided.

Construction and Packing

Your infrared sauna is an electrical device with a wooden structure, which means that the risk of fire hazard can be high if not properly constructed. Check all wiring and other electrical panels to see if they are enclosed properly, and that they have no way of being exposed to condensation.

Comfort Level

Lastly, you need to check the comfort level of the sauna. Is the seating area too close to the heater? Is the seating area portable and removable? The latter is a much better choice as it will give you the flexibility to move around within the sauna or replace the seats whenever they are damaged.
